Fellow Hot Rod Enthusiasts,
We would like to tell you about a very exciting event coming in June 2010. The Heart of Carolina Street Rodders, a Christian oriented organization, has hosted a Charity Rod Run at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons for 25 years. In an effort to grow and improve our Rod Run, we are moving our date and the location this year to Farmington Dragway located in Mocksville, NC. We are affiliated with the National Street Rod Association and the cruise-in is open to all cars 1980 and older. We are contacting all area car clubs to invite their members to join us for a fantastic, fun filled day on June 5, 2010 from 8am to 3pm. We will have sponsor trophies for several different categories of registered cars in attendance, as well as free dash plaques for the first 200 participants. We will also have door prizes, 50/50 drawing, a silent auction and lots of food and various automotive vendors. There is a $15 registration fee per street rod ($20 day of show), and an entrance fee for all spectators. For an additional $5, anyone will be able to test and race their car (street rod or otherwise!) on the dragway (great for bragging rights!).
All monies received, over expenses, are donated to the Winston-Salem Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem provides a "home away from home" for families of children who are receiving medical care in our community's hospitals. The House and Family Room programs offer physical comforts, emotional support, education, and referral services designed to promote the well-being of the whole family. Last year, the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms had 22,313 visitors from 72 N.C. counties, 28 other states, and 2 foreign countries. We, as a club, believe this a very worth-while charity that makes a difference in the lives of families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House.
We are hoping to meet many new enthusiasts this year at our show. Please come join in the fun and help us support the Ronald McDonald House!
Your time and attention, in getting this info to your fellow gearheads, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
The Heart of Carolina Street Rodders
